Thousands of years ago, the great Nephite prophet Moroni, issued a challenge to all of the world:
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
Today, Moroni’s Quest is the modern answer to that ancient call. It is a breathtaking, immersive wilderness journey where the pages of the Book of Mormon erupt into life.
Leaving the modern world behind, youth step directly into the sandals of the ancients. They don period clothing, unite into tribes, and raise their banners. They weather the storms on Nephi’s ship, stand as Stripling Warriors under the Title of Liberty, gather at the tower of King Benjamin, and experience the profound reverence of the Savior's promised visit.
Wednesday, July 7th -
Saturday, July 10th 2027
Sara & Eldon Tanner Youth Camp
5007 Lakeshore Rd, Wabamun
Moroni’s Quest is designed to immerse you fully in the world of the Book of Mormon. Throughout the week, you will engage in powerful re-enactments, spiritual discussions, authentic games, and traditional artisan crafts.
Upon arrival, you will be organized into a Tribal Unit led by Tribal Elders. Your tribe is composed of several Family Groups.
Your Family Group will include:
An Abba & Ima (Father and Mother)
10–12 Siblings (Youth participants)
Aunts or Uncles (Additional adult leaders)
Your Abba, Ima, and Tribal Elders will guide your daily activities, share meals with you, and lead your group discussions.
We want you to feel comfortable while also making new connections. During pre-registration, you may list one individual you would like to have as a sibling in your family unit.
The "Buddy" Rule: To ensure you are placed together, both individuals must request each other.
While we aim to pair you with a familiar friend, the rest of your family will consist of youth from various wards across the Stake.
Accommodations: You will be assigned a tent within your designated Ward area. Sleeping quarters are strictly separated by gender. Youth will spend the day and some evenings with their tribes, and return to their Ward area each night. Youth will be able to build relationships both in their Wards and with youth from other Wards.
Identification: You will receive a lanyard at check-in. This is your most important item—it serves as your meal pass and contains your daily schedule. You must keep it with you at all times.
Dress Code: All participants are invited to wear Nephite-style clothing. We recommend having at least two costumes. Please see "Costume Guidelines & Advice" below on this page.
Conduct: High standards of behavior are required. You will read and sign the Moroni’s Quest Code of Conduct as part of your final registration.
Cell Phones: You are encouraged to disconnect from technology over the few days that you are participating in Moroni's quest. We invite you to leave your phones at home, in your bags, or with your leaders. In addition, there are no charging areas available in the camp sites. You are encouraged to use your paper copy of the scriptures, and for photos we will have a Quest Photographer capturing the events of the week.
As with any spiritual journey, you will get out of this experience exactly what you put into it. Come prepared to work, play, and grow.
Have fun and enjoy living history!
All youth turning 12 and older in the 2027 calendar year. This would include all those youth who are currently part of the youth program, up to and including those youth who graduate in 2027.
Individuals who graduated in 2026 and who are still living at home are eligible to participate in special roles of Tribal Aunts and Uncles.
There will be no cost for the youth of the stake.
If you're looking at packing already, congratulations! We're still working on our list though. Check back closer to the day!
